Aron Aji received the ALTA 2004 National Translation Award for his translation of Bilge Karasu's The Garden of Departed Cats. He is a professor of comparative literature at Butler University in Indianapolis and the recipient of a 2006 National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship awarded for his translation work.
