Jeffrey Angles currently teaches Japanese literature at Western Michigan University. He has translated several writers and poets of twentieth-century Japan, including Murayama Kaita, Hagiwara Sakutarô, Inagaki Taruho, Edogawa Ranpo, Yumeno Kyûsaku, Hamao Shirô, Takahashi Mutsuo, and Aizawa Keizô. His book of translations of the contemporary feminist poet Tada Chimako, From a Woman of a Distant Land, is forthcoming from Green Integer.
