Deborah Garfinkle is a writer, poet, and translator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin where she wrote on the relationship of the Czech Surrealist movement to French Surrealism and the Soviet Union. She is currently an adjunct instructor at De Anza College in Cupertino, California. Her reviews, poetry, translations, and criticism have appeared in a variety of scholarly and literary publications in the US and abroad.
