Ron Banerjee

Ron Banerjee was born in India and teaches English and Comparative Literature at Smith College; he is a poet, critic and translator. Other than essays, poems and translations in English, French and Italian, his books are Far From You (Toronto, 1981), Poetry from Bengal (London, 1989) and L’Antica Fiamma (Pisa, 1995). And, most recently, Sonnets for the Madonna with Italian translations of the sonnets by Manlio Cancogni, bilingual, art edition, with notes on the sources, published by Maschietto/Musolino, Firenze 1999.
