John Friedmann

John Friedmann is professor emeritus of urban planning at UCLA and the author of many books in his profession. Born in Vienna, he now lives with his wife, Leonie Sandercock, in Melbourne, Australia. He has published two chap books of his own poetry (The Violent Land; There is no World for Children Anymore), some of his translations have also appeared in a philosophical work, The Good Society (MIT Press, 1979).
