Mohammad Nurul Hudä

Mohammad Nurul Hudä was born in 1949 in Cox's Bäzär, in the Chittagong district of Bangladesh. He is Deputy Director of the prestigious Bangla Academy, a research institute devoted to the Bengali language. He is Organizing Secretary of the pro-democracy Jatiya Kabita Parisad (the National Poetry Council) and a member of the Bangladesh Writer's Association. Regarded as one of Bangladesh's leading poets, Hudä has published more than fifteen volumes of poetry and many volumes of essays and criticism in Bengali. He has also translated works from English to Bengali, including short stories by Flannery O'Connor and the play Agamemnon.
