Charles Ross

Charles Ross, a former Fulbright-Hays Scholar in Italy, is Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Purdue University. His translation of Matteo Maria Boiardo’s fifteenth-century Italian romantic epic Orlando Innamorato (Orlando in Love) was published in 1989 by the University of California Press and is currently available as in paperback in an abridged edition in the Oxford World’s Classics series. His most recent book, The Custom of the Castle from Malory to Macbeth (California, 1997), explores how romance narrative handles the changing implications of customary law.
