Sasha Vlad

Sasha Vlad is a translator and visual artist living in San Francisco. He works at a commercial translation agency where he translates over 30 languages. His translation (with James Brook) of the Romanian surrealist novel Zenobia, by Gellu Naum, was published by Northwestern University Press in 1995. Other co-translations from the Romanian surrealist poets Gherasim Luca, Dan Stanciu and Virgil Teodorescu appeared in Exquisite Corpse and Talisman. His co-translation (with Zack Rogow) of the series of poems The Advantage of Vertebrae by Gellu Naum is included in Mr. Knife and Mrs. Fork, An Anthology of International Poetry published by Sun & Moon Press.
