Two Lines Press and Powell’s Books on Hawthorne have collaborated to bring The Boys author Toni Sala to Portland for a bookstore reading! Sala will read from his first Two Lines Press title.
Set in and around the small town of Vidreres, The Boys begins with the death of two brothers and features four stories linked in unexpected ways. Those we meet there—a bank employee, truckers, prostitutes, frustrated landowners and their heirs—are all rattling at the doors of their respective cages, hunting for meaning and their place in the hierarchy of contemporary rural life. The shock waves that ripple through the town leave no one untouched, with tension mounting in the closing pages for the final reveal.
Toni Sala is the author of over a dozen novels and works of nonfiction. In 2005 he was awarded the National Literature Prize by the Catalan government, and he has also received many other honors for his writing. He lives in Barcelona.
