Swiss author Dorothee Elmiger talks about Out of the Sugar Factory, translated by Megan Ewing, with Jessi Jezewska Stevens, author of The Exhibition of Persephone Q and The Visitors.

Dorothee Elmiger was born in 1985 in Switzerland. She is the author of Out of the Sugar Factory, Shift Sleepers and Invitation to the Bold of Heart. She lives in New York City.

Jessi Jezewska Stevens

Jessi Jezewska Stevens is the author of the novels The Exhibition of Persephone Q (a NYT Editors’ Choice) and The Visitors. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Harper’s, Foreign Policy, The Paris Review, The Nation, The New Yorker online, 4Columns, and elsewhere, and has received support from the German-American Fulbright Association. She teaches fiction at Columbia University in New York.
