Join us for the next meeting of the Contemporary Translated Works Book Group as we read and discuss Covert Joy: Selected Stories by Clarice Lispector, translated by Katrina Dodson. Co-presented by Center for the Art of Translation, Mechanic’s Institute(opens in a new tab), and Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum(opens in a new tab), the Contemporary Translated Works Book Group is a monthly, member-led series featuring thought-provoking literary selections from around the world. This group meets online via Zoom at lunchtime (12:00-1:00 pm) on the third Wednesday of each month.

About the Contemporary Translated Works Book Group

Founded in March 2024, this book group delves into contemporary global literature translated into a variety of Englishes, fostering conversations about language, culture, and the art of translation.
