Samir Abu Hawwash is a Palestinian poet and journalist. Born in Beirut in 1972 to Palestinian refugees, he studied journalism at the Lebanese University of Journalism and Communication. In 2009 he was chosen as one of the thirty-nine young Arab authors of Beirut39 project. He also translates English-language prose and poetry into Arabic, including works by Jack Kerouac, Yann Martel, and Langston Hughes, and Robert Bly.
