Susan Fulop Kepner

Dr. Susan Fulop Kepner is a renowned specialist in Thai literature. She is the author of The Lioness in Bloom: Modern Thai Fiction about Women and many essays on Thai literature and culture. She has translated two prize-winning novels, Letters from Thailand and A Child of the Northeast, from Thai into English, as well as short stories and poems. She is currently beginning a memoir of her experiences in Vietnam and Thailand. She taught courses in Southeast Asian Studies and Thai language for many years at UC Berkeley until her retirement in 2009.
