Rogelio Riverón

Rogelio Riverón is a Cuban writer who has won numerous prizes, including the 2008 Italo Calvino Award, granted by the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba in conjunction with the Italian cultural organization ARCI and the Grupo Fundaativo Italo Calvino; and the 2007 Julio Cortázar Award for short stories. He is also a critic, journalist, anthologist, novelist, and poet, but remains deeply commited to the short story as a genre.
