Mircea Cărtărescu

Mircea Cărtărescu is a Romanian poet, novelist and essayist and one of the most translated and awarded Romanian authors internationally. He is considered a leading poetic figure of his generation and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest Faculty of Letters. He has won numerous awards, including the 2017 Mihai Eminescu National Poetry Award for his entire work, Romanian Writer’s Union Prize, the Leipzig Book Award for European Understanding, and the Best Translated Book Award.
