Robert Rudder

Robert S.  Rudder taught Spanish at the University of Minnesota during the 1960’s, where he met with Ana María Matute and translated some of her stories.  Later, while teaching at UCLA and other universities, his translations of the Lazarillo de Tormes, and of such writers as Benito Pérez Galdós, Rosario Castellanos, and Cristina Peri Rossi were published.  He has received writing grants from the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
