Bonnie Huie

Bonnie Huie is a literary translator of Chinese and Japanese whose books include Qiu Miaojin’s Notes of a Crocodile (NYRB Classics, 2017) and Amy Cheung’s Hummingbirds Fly Backwards (AmazonCrossing, 2016). She is the recipient of a PEN/Heim Translation Fund grant, and her rendition of Motojirō Kajii’s story “Under the Cherry Blossoms” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her work has appeared in PEN America, the Brooklyn Rail, Words Without BordersKyoto JournalThe Margins by the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, and the visual arts journal Afterimage.
