Bonnie Huie is a literary translator of Chinese and Japanese whose books include Qiu Miaojin’s Notes of a Crocodile (NYRB Classics, 2017) and Amy Cheung’s Hummingbirds Fly Backwards (AmazonCrossing, 2016). She is the recipient of a PEN/Heim Translation Fund grant, and her rendition of Motojirō Kajii’s story “Under the Cherry Blossoms” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her work has appeared in PEN America, the Brooklyn Rail, Words Without Borders, Kyoto Journal, The Margins by the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, and the visual arts journal Afterimage.
