Preorder Nancy from an Indie Bookseller for a Chance at Limited Edition Prints and a $100 Gift Card
In just a few weeks we’ll publish the Chilean writer Bruno Lloret’s Nancy, in translation from Spanish by Ellen Jones. An “incredibly powerful” (Kirkus, starred review(opens in a new tab)) coming-of-age story that tracks Nancy’s youth through remote memories of her Chilean childhood, the novel is also a grand experiment in storytelling and typography. As Lloret tells us, “the X started, almost on its own, to gather functions other than rhythm—silences, white noise, gaps, breathing—as if the world depicted in the novel emerged from the many meanings of this ubiquitous sign.”
To honor these alluring Xs that riddle the text (and how could we not?), we worked with our neighbors at the Berkeley-based Kavamore Press(opens in a new tab) to produce a triptych set of high-quality letterpress prints, each illustrating a page from Nancy. No matter what you ultimately make of these mysterious markings, they’re as mesmerizing framed on the wall as they are on the page.
Each print is 11″x14″, hand-numbered, and extremely limited. We’ve got 10 extras and we want to send a set to you!
But that’s not all. We’ve partnered up with our friends at Nectar Literary(opens in a new tab) to send one lucky winner, in addition to a print set, a $100 gift card for the indie bookstore where they purchased Nancy.
How to enter:
- Preorder a copy of Nancy directly from an indie bookstore of your choosing
- Send a copy of your receipt to cfelix@twolinespress.com(opens in a new tab)
- 10 winners will be selected and contacted on Friday, 4/16
Easy! Submit your receipt by Tuesday, April 13th to be eligible. Each copy of Nancy purchased directly through an indie bookstore is good for one entry. Purchase multiple copies for multiple chances to win (hello, book clubs)!
