Adam (Yuet) Chau

Adam (Yuet) Chau was born in Beijing, China, and spent twelve years in Beijing and nine years in Hong Kong before coming to the United States for college. A graduate of Williams College with a B.A. in Anthropology, he holds a doctorate in Cultural Anthropology from Stanford University. After becoming an An Wang Post-doctoral Fellow at the Fairbank Center for East Asian Research at Harvard University, he came to the UK in 2005 and taught Chinese Studies and Anthropology at Oxford before becoming the Senior Lecturer in the Anthropology of Modern China at the University of Cambridge in 2008.
