Arzu Eker is an academic and translator living in Greece. She previously taught translation practice, theory, and criticism at the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. She completed her PhD dissertation on the English translations of the Turkish author Orhan Pamuk’s novels and is a member of the steering committee of the Cunda International Workshop for Translators of Turkish Literature. She has published works that explore the recontextualization of the translated works of the Slovene philosopher Slavoj Žižek in Turkey, the reception of Turkish literature in English translation, and the sociocultural implications of the paratexts of Turkish novels in Greek translation.
