Cemal Demircioğlu
Demircioğlu has been teaching as a faculty member in Okan University’s Department of Translation Studies since 2005 and doing research on Ottoman translation history. He is also on the steering committee of the Cunda International Workshop for Translators of Turkish Literature (CWTTL), founded in 2006 by Saliha Paker and supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Literature Across Frontiers (LAF). He is the co-translator of the works of various contemporary Turkish poets in English, such as Gülten Akın, Murathan Mungan, Haydar Ergülen, Gökçenur Ç., and Gonca Özmen. His research interests include Ottoman translation history, methods in translation history, translation theories, and intralingual translation from Ottoman into modern Turkish.
