Choman Hardi

Choman Hardi was born in Sulaimani and lived in Iraq and Iran before seeking asylum in the U.K. in 1993. She is the author of Gendered Experiences of Genocide: Anfal Survivors in Kurdistan-Iraq (Ashgate, 2011) and a book of poetry, Considering the Women (Bloodaxe Books, 2015). She is the Founding Director of the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS). In 2015 she founded the Center for Gender and Development Studies at AUIS.
