Deborah Iwabuchi

Deborah Iwabuchi, a longtime resident of Japan who was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been translating novels, memoirs, and marketing research for more than twenty-five years. The novel Translucent Tree by Nobuko Takagi (Vertical, 2008) is her favorite work to date. Others include translations of novels by best-selling Japanese authors Miyuki Miyabe and Jun’ichi Watanabe. Deborah works out of her Southern Exposure Translations office in Maebashi, a beautiful town just far enough away from Tokyo.
