Lara Vergnaud

Translator, French
Lara Vergnaud is a translator of literary and scholarly works from the French. She received a PEN/Heim Translation Grant for her translation of France, story of a childhood, by Zahia Rahmani, which is forthcoming from Yale University Press in 2016. Lara is a member of the PEN America Translation Committee, ALTA (the American Literary Translator’s Association), and the social media coordinator for DC-ALT (The DC Area Literary Translators Association). She holds an MA in French-English literary translation from New York University, a graduate degree in English-French translation from the University of Lyon II, and a BA in History and French from the College of William and Mary.
