Lydia Davis

Author, Translator, Dutch, French
Lydia Davis is the author of several collections of stories, including, most recently, Can’t and Won’t (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2014), as well as one novel, The End of the Story (FSG, 1995). She is the translator of many books from the French, including Proust’s Swann’s Way and Flaubert’s Madame Bovary. She has also translated shorter texts from the German, Portuguese, Spanish, and, most recently, Dutch, including over sixty of A. L. Snijders’s stories. (Photo credit: Alchetron)
