Mario Santiago Papasquiaro

Author, Spanish
Mario Santiago Papasquiaro is the pseudonym of José Alfredo Zendejas Pineda (1953–1998), the Mexican poet immortalized as Ulises Lima in Roberto Bolaño’s novel The Savage Detectives. In 1975 Santiago and Bolaño founded infrarealism, a fiercely antiinstitutional literary movement devoted to radical politics and formal experimentation. (Photo credit: Poetas del fin del mundo)
