Patrick Barron

Translator, Italian
Patrick Barron is Associate Professor of English, College of Liberal Arts, and Director of the Professional Writing Program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. His areas of expertise include twentieth-century American and Italian poetry; environmental literature and ecocriticism; Native American literature; professional writing; and literary translation. His books include Circle of Teeth: 55 Poems, the novel Circling Brooks: Transmogrifications, and Italian Environmental Literature: An Anthology. Other translation projects include Gianni Celati’s Verso la foce (Journey to the Mouth of the Po) and The Selected Poetry and Prose of Andrea Zanzotto, a comprehensive anthology of Zanzotto’s creative and critical work.
