Samira Negrouche

Samira Negrouche was born in 1980 in Algiers, where she still lives. Trained as a physician, she has concentrated on her literary projects for the past few years. Concerned with aesthetic as well as physical borders, she has collaborated with visual artists and musicians including Katerina Fotinaki, Lionel Martin and Ali Silem with whom she created the multi-media Bâton/Totem in 2016. Her books include Le Jazz des oliviers (Editions Le Tell, 2010) and six arbres de fortune autour de ma baignoire, to appear this year. Other poems in Marilyn Hacker’s translation have appeared recently in Pleiades, upstreet and PNReview.
