Seta Astreou-Karides

Seta Astreou-Karides (CY) is an artist, researcher, and performance maker from Cyprus, based between Athens and Nicosia. Her artistic and research practice engages with fiction, speculative methodologies, and the geographies of Cyprus. She studied English and Drama (BA) at Queen Mary University of London and is currently pursuing an MA at the Dutch Art Institute. She is a member of the Fisherwomxn collective, through which she develops collaborative projects centred on artistic research, publishing, translation, and study grounded in anti-colonial and feminist literature. Alongside Rallou Karella, she co-developed Translating Table, an open-source platform exploring collaborative and situated approaches to translation. As part of Fisherwomxn, she was an artist-researcher for the Cyprus Pavilion at the 2025 Architecture Biennale. As a dramaturg and performer, she has collaborated with artists and theatre-makers in Cyprus and Greece. She also worked as a series editor at Alexandria Publications, overseeing the Contemporary Translated Fiction series, distributed in Greece and Cyprus.
