Prizes

The 2022 International Booker Prize shortlist(opens in a new tab) was announced earlier this month. The six books on the list feature translations from Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, and Spanish, and the award ceremony is May 19.

The Helen & Kurt Wolff Translator’s Prize shortlis(opens in a new tab)t names translators working from German.

The 2022 LA Times Book Prizes(opens in a new tab) were also announced in April.

The 2022 Women’s Prize for Fiction shortlist(opens in a new tab) includes six books by women authors from Trinidad, Turkey, and the United States.

And finally, the Guggenheim Foundation announced the 2022 Guggenheim Fellows(opens in a new tab), whose work spans a range of disciplines, including translation.

The deadline to apply for a 2022 PEN/Heim Translation Fund gran(opens in a new tab)t is June 1.

News

The Center was one of 313 literary organizations to receive a grant from the Literary Arts Emergency Fun(opens in a new tab)d, which is administered by launched and administered by the Academy of American Poets, the Community of Literary Magazine & Presses (CLMP), and the National Book Foundation, with funding from the Mellon Foundation.

The 2022 PEN World Voices Festival(opens in a new tab) will be held May 11-13 in New York City and Los Angeles. The lineup will include more than 80 writers from 25 countries.
