Prizes
Emerging and experienced Korean-English translators can apply before December 13 to the 2023 New Translator Prize(opens in a new tab) for the chance to be selected to translate Bora Jin’s “A Prescription for You from Memory Care”, winner of the 2022 New Korean Voice Prize.
The deadline for prose submissions to the 2023 Gulf Coast Prize in Translation(opens in a new tab) is TOMORROW, August 31. The Prize will be judged by Katrina Dodson serving as the prizes’ judge. The winner will receive $1,000 and publication in the magazine, and two honorable mentions will receive $250 each.

Apply to the The Los Angeles Review of Books + Yefe Nof Translation Residency(opens in a new tab) by September 15. Open to emerging translators who have not yet published a book-length collection of work, the winner will work with former LARB editor-in-chief and winner of 2022 National Book Critics Circle Gregg Barrios Translation Prize winner Boris Dralyuk.
The upcoming Seoul International Writers Festival(opens in a new tab) aims to respond to the heightened isolation created by the pandemic and bridge barriers through literature.
